Our Story

The Coffey House Bed & Breakfast began as a dream 20+ years ago, when Ellie and Rick Coffey first visited the beautiful North Fork of Long Island. The Coffey's instantly fell in love with the magical mix of farmland and vineyards, quaint seaside towns and villages, the eclectic mix of old and new, and a growing movement of farm to table ingredients that would blend well with their plans to create a place where couples could come to relax and feel at home, to reconnect, and enjoy a truly romantic and restful retreat!

We hope that you too will fall in love with the beautiful North Fork of Long Island! As your hosts, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay at the Coffey House Bed & Breakfast a more unique, memorable, and enjoyable one.

Meet Your Hosts

Ellie Coffey

Photo of Ellie Coffey Ellie - a first generation Austrian from Ridgewood, Queens - loves everything to do with the outdoors. When she's not in the kitchen pursuing her passion for creating homemade baked goods for the B&B (like her freshly baked vanilla raspberry scones, banana & cinnamon bread, and "guest favorite" chocolate chip cookies) you'll find her tending to her herb garden and the flowers and plants spread throughout the two acre property. Outside of the B&B, Ellie loves browsing through the local antique shops, forever searching for that perfect accent piece that will add an extra hint of charm to our lovingly renovated 1886 Farmhouse.

Rick Coffey

Photo of Rick Coffey Rick - who grew up in Seaford on the South Shore of Long Island - loves the proximity of the B&B to both the Bay and the Long Island Sound. When not tending to the savory courses at breakfast including Catapano Farm Goat Cheese - ( visit their website at http://www.catapanodairyfarm.com/ opens in a new window ), Roasted Tomato and Fresh Basil Frittata or Buttermilk Belgian Waffles) you might find him watching the sunrise over Greenport Harbor or strolling along a quiet stretch of beach at Rocky Point at sunset. When he is not helping Ellie with the gardening, Rick enjoys biking through Greenport or, if the stars align, spending a day fishing in the waters off Orient Point.
